About our competition

We are a rural school with a roll of 47 children from yr0 - yr8 on the West Coast of the North Island. We may be small, but we punch well above our weight!

Our annual children’s hunting competition continues to grow each year, with entries increasing from 220 children in 2024, to 270 in 2025, and we’re expecting around 300 entrants this year. Alongside this, our young hunters have helped eradicate more than 1,500 possums annually, plus many other pest species, making a real impact on our local environment.

Our Hunting Competition is a seasonal fundraiser to make school camp affordable for all families, keep our school bus winding along our gravel roads and provide technology and learning opportunities for our country children that we normally wouldn't have due to our size.

When you support our competition, you support our children.
Sponsors are the EVERYTHING to us! Without your support, we wouldn't be able to host our competition. If you are interested in supporting us please contact us.

Thank you!
